One, Once Again
We were in a serious relationship,
and after two years it came to an
end,
I lost more than my everything,
I lost my partner, my lifelong
friend.
And so now I'm trying to win your
heart back,
to be honest, I don't know where to
start,
so I thought I'd share a few
feelings,
and give you some words, they're
straight from the heart.
I just wanted you to know that I
love you,
in truth, I love you with all my
heart and soul,
for with you in my life, I'm
complete,
you are the one that makes me
completely whole.
After July, we didn't speak for a
couple of months,
I did my best to avoid you, every
night and day,
I knew I had too much grief in my
bones,
my soul knew I still had too much
to say.
Actually, I thought I was nearly
over you,
but then we had that meeting and
things changed,
my heart skipped a beat, my pulse
raced,
and my destiny had been permanently
rearranged.
After the meeting, I couldn't stop
crying,
I went home and e-mailed you how I
felt,
I didn't expect anything in return,
but I was wrong,
my prayers were answered (because
I'd knelt).
Ever since we've spoken and seen
each other,
(and I'm so glad that we still get
on so very well),
but you want me to change first to
see what happens,
you keep telling me that surely
time will tell.
But I know that time waits for no
woman,
and to change, for you, I'm doing
my very best,
I'm doing everything possible to
prove my love to you,
it's like I am having to pass some
sort of written test.
Because, simply, I want us to be
one, once again,
three words that would dramatically
make my life,
three words that could lead us
somewhere,
who knows? Maybe, one day I'd be
your wife.
I knew from the very first moment
that I met you,
(and I'd never believed in love at
first sight),
but I knew you were perfectly
perfect,
I knew you were my Mr. Exactly
Right.
No one in the world can make me
as happy as you can,
you're the love of my life, the
only one for me,
the only future I can imagine is
one with you,
and that future is a great and
exciting place to be.
And I know that you have every
reason to be hurt,
and that you think I may cause you
pain once more,
but I promise, I'll make you even
happier now,
and I guess that's really what
these words are for.
Because I'm sorry for all the pain
that I caused you,
I messed up once, twice and then
big time,
and I just wanted to say "I love
you",
you are the one that found my words
to rhyme.
And this bottle will be sealed
forever and a day,
because the lines are riddled with
heartfelt pain,
and I don't think we'll need to
read them in the future,
especially, if, you can make us,
become one, once again.
