(OPTION: GO STRAIGHT TO POEM)

Marc is my best friend although I have only known him for less than a

Previous to this situation, we both trusted each other and were each
other's greatest sources of support and encouragement. He taught me to
love "wrasslin'." :) He was the first person who ever told me I was a
good, kind, beautiful person. He gave me a reason to have self
confidence. My friends are my family and knowing that I hurt one of them takes all the joy out of my days.
 
I want the poem to reflect my sadness and regret for this situation. I
want him to know that our friendship is important to me. I will do
anything to repair the damage I have done.
 
I am a 20 year old college student...a senior in elementary education. I
love to laugh and make others laugh. I will make time to listen to
people with problems...I feel useful when I can help others. I love
reading, country music, and watching movies. He always teases me for
drinking non-alcoholic beer (O'Doul's). Marc is a 24 year old
non-destructive testing technician at a local chemical plant. He
sometimes hates his job, but he's pretty successful at what he does. He
feels the same way about helping people as I do. As I mentioned before,
he's really interested in wrestling. He also enjoys working out and
martial arts. His favourite restaurant is Bennigan's. Thanks, Priscilla
 
A FAMILY FRIEND
 
You make my tears turn to rainbows,
my frown into a goofy grin.
You never stopped pushing me,
to be the best and to win.
 
But now I'm very sorry,
what we had has come to an end.
Because I want to be with you again,
I want to be your friend.
 
What happened between us,
(and these excuses will, I know, sound lame),
but I shouldn't have listened to others,
my fault, I'm the one to blame.
 
I know that elastic,
once snapped is then no good.
But I would like to mend what we had,
If only, by myself, I could.
 
So just let me back in,
let me back inside.
My soul lies before you,
my heart is open wide.
 
What we had together,
was more than just friendship to me.
You were more than just a friend,
you were more like family.
 
So the next time you're working out,
or at your martial art,
just think of the times that we had,
just think of my broken heart.
