My name is Rebecca and I have two sisters of whom I love and care for deeply. As children we had such a hard life with our parents. I ran away at 15 got pregnant and my life got even more hellish from there. That is until I met my husband Greg. I have five children but only three of which whom live with me. I am the second oldest our brother came first. Then there is Mary, she ran when she was very young too and got married and had two babies. Her life as well was filled with much disappointment and strong desires of being loved if only for a moment. To just know for once what it was like. Now she is divorced and living a single parent life. Things are not all she would hope for financially and the love of here life is married. But she carries on gracefully until the next time that the earth would come and swallow her whole. She wears a mask of deception but I know her pain so well. Karen is the youngest and the one our parents adore. She is the most beautiful woman I know of but the most weak in so many ways. She also married young and went through her own private hell. She is working on her second divorce and everyone is pleased. Karen has dealt with two abusive husbands both physically and emotionally. She has recently met her angel on earth and I pray he treats her right. Karen is more like a daughter to me in many regards. Mary like a dear companion and soul mate. For Christmas I would like to give them this poem as a gift of appreciation, loyalty, forgiveness, and strength as well as an acknowledgement to there maturity and goodness and to say i love you. Thank you so much I look forward to reading the poem. Best regards, Rebecca
I know life was never meant to be easy, but I didn't think it would be this hard, we've survived our individual battles, a little weary, a little scarred.
But we have stuck together, battled on through thick and thin, although we never thought about losing, we sometimes thought about giving in.
I ran away at fifteen, got loved real, real good, not the recommended way, to join the ranks of motherhood.
Mary ran when she was young too, to discover what she could find, wanted loving for just a moment, had nothing else on her mind.
Now she is divorced, and living a single parents life, and the man of her dreams, has taken another wife..
But she carries on so gracefully, living life with heart and soul, that is until the next time, the earth comes and swallows her whole.
She wears a mask of deception, but I know her pain so well, the lines on her face, show stories she'll never tell.
And Karen is the youngest, the one our parents adore, but is having another ride on the Big D, going around just once more.
She's had two abusive husbands, and has survived her own private hell. What does her angel hold for her future ? I guess only time will tell.
Karen is more like a daughter to me, Mary a dear companion and soul mate, we've all been battered by destiny, storm lashed by the winds of fate.
But we are still together, and have survived life this long, our love has kept us going, and has never been this strong.
So these lines are my gift to you, they've been penned especially for me. I thank you for your forgiveness, strength, and your unwavering loyalty.
