Useless
 
"You're so bloody useless !"
Your words tear me apart,
they cut like a surgeon's knife,
steadily and straight to the heart.
 
You never say "I love you",
unless you're prompted first,
simple words that would satisfy my hunger,
and would quench my raging thirst.
 
When I go to bed early,
you somehow come to bed late,
no longer a strange coincidence,
no longer a quirk of fate.
 
And when the question is asked,
I've only got one thing on my mind,
and I get that lonely frustrated feeling,
it's one of the painful kind.
 
Time is a finite thing,
and I've tried just about every way,
but I know that you can't get,
25 hours in just one day.
 
So some things have to give,
like elastic stretched too tight,
so we've no time left for loving,
and just enough time to fight.
 
I like your new trendy hairstyle,
and you're looking extra trim,
can't help thinking it's not for me,
I wonder if it is for him ?
 
I know I'm not perfect,
because you've told me oft times before,
but do you want our kids,
to hear the sound of a slamming door ?
 
I know we are two different people,
you're from Venus and I'm from Mars,
born on different planets,
guided by different stars.
 
But can't we start over ?
I don't want to be a weekend Dad,
I only want one wife forever,
and that is the one that I had.
