(OPTION: SKIP THE REQUEST AND GO STRAIGHT TO THE POEM)

I am having a very hard time telling my boyfriend of almost 3 months
just how much I care about him. I am leaving for college tomorrow
morning and will not see him for about 2 weeks and I just want him to
know how much I care about him and love him. We started seeing each
other 4 months ago around prom time. Neither of us had dates so he
followed me for a half an hour one day to ask me to prom. Of course I
said YES and we went to prom together. Prom was wonderful and we both
had a wonderful time together. We kept seeing each other and neither of
us was sure if we were actually going out or not. So one day about a
month after prom we were sitting outside together just talking and I
asked him what he wanted me to tell people when they asked me if we were going out yet or not. So he asked me if I wanted to and I said yes so we were then official. It has been 5 days short of 3 months and I do
believe that he is definitely the one I will marry after we are out of
college. We have so much fun together and are so perfect for each other
that we have never had a fight. We are both 18 years old and starting
college soon and we have talked about marriage but we have both decided
that it would be best to wait until after we are out of college. He
realized that I would stick by him no matter what when he had a major
fight with his dad and I was there for him to hold him and wipe his
tears away. I do believe that this is real love because when we are
apart from each other we just want to be back in each others arms once
more. I have never felt these kinds of feelings before and they are very
strong. I have had this feeling that we will be together forever ever
since we started seeing each other. He treats me like a queen and does
little things that mean so much to me. I have gotten him little things
that, I hope, help him to realize that I really do love him very much.
I would appreciate it if you could write me poem that I could share with
Bob Cerar, my boyfriend. Thank you very much.

THE RULE
 
We had our first date,
when we went to the prom,
never knew how long it would last,
never knew where love came from.
 
When you fought with your Dad,
and I wiped your tears away.
That's when I knew I loved you,
that was the very special day.
 
In only three short months,
which have sped and quickly past.
I see there right before me,
a love that I know will last.
 
I can tell this is love,
because when we are apart,
I get this physical feeling,
I get this aching in my heart.
 
I have never felt this way,
and I know this doesn't feel wrong,
because I want you now and forever,
and that wanting is awful strong.
 
You never make me angry,
and treat me like a queen,
and we will be the happiest couple,
the world has ever seen.
 
But we're going to wait our time,
until we've finished school.
Just know that I love you madly,
and that is the only rule.
