I Miss

Kathleen wrote:

My Dad just died about a month ago. He had a virus in his heart and suffered for 10 years to stay with us. He was a great man, a great father, and a great  friend. I really miss him a lot. I never had the chance to talk to him when I flew up to Pa . He was in the hospital and sedated. I would like you to write a poem to my dad from me.

My father was a very funny man . he had a very warm and kind heart. he was loved by so many people. and I really do not think he knew how much. He gave his heart and soul to his wife and kids. for a father who never really had a father he was the best anyone could ask for.
My father did not want to leave us, but he just could not hold on any longer. he was only 63 year old. I treasure the times my father and I spent together and the talks we had. At Christmas time my mom ,dad ,my daughter and I would drive around the street to look at all the lights on the houses. I'm really going to miss that. I looked forward to going up east for Christmas to spend some time with him. He really made me laugh. I missed him when he was alive. but at least I could talk to him on the phone. Now I can't. And I wish I could. I have so many great memories and I am so thankful that God sent him here .

I would like this poem to be about a great man a great father and a great best friend , because that is what he was to me. I miss his shoulder to cry one I miss his smile , I miss his joke and him making fun of me. I miss his hugs and his kisses. I just really miss him. I know that some day I will see him  again. And I know he is out of his pain. But, I also know that he wish he can have his body back and be down here on earth with us. My father had a special light in him that made everyone around him safe and warm. I want him to know that I will continue shining that light for him so know one will every forget him.

I hope this help you create a beautiful poem for me. I would like to give it to my mom. and put is frame so it can sit up at his tomb stone.

Thank you

Kathleen R. Wugofski
My father name was Francis T. Harrington

I MISS

I miss your special light,
your shoulder to cry on,
your smile,
your jokes,
and you making fun of me,
I miss you a lot.

I miss your hugs,
your kisses,
your warmth,
your kind heart,
your love,
your selflessness,
I miss you a lot.

I miss a great man,
a great father,
a best friend,
I miss you a lot.

I miss our talks,
our drives,
our walks,
our Christmas together,
our phone conversations,
our time,
I miss you a lot.

(But your special light shines on,
in me and in all the people
that ever loved you.

And they are a lot).
