Eighty More

Looking back over the years,

you've been a really good friend of ours,

our friendship has survived the seasons,

thankfully avoiding those passing showers.

You lead a full and very exciting life,

you've traveled the world (once or twice),

and we don't know of any other octogenarians,

who are even as half as nice !

What made Milwaukee famous?

A question that has troubled most.

Well, Jack was born and bred there,

a fact that Milwaukee can proudly boast.

You love your fine food,

after all, you have exquisite taste,

and slowly you savor your courses,

after all; more feed, less haste !

The postman sends his wishes too,

or at least that's what he would like to log,

he would have delivered this personally,

but he can't get past your blasted dog !

You've learnt your stuff at Harvard,

but one question I've always found too tough;

Why do you still call it a practice?

Surely, by now you've practiced enough?

You love London, Paris and New York,

French restaurants and how you love the stage !

But maybe it's time you stopped doing the Can-Can,

maybe it's time to act your age !

Happy Birthday Jack,

that's what we'd just like to say,

we hope that you have a wonderful time,

we hope that you have a wonderful day.

And we'd like to add our thanks,

thanks for being part of our lives,

you are good taste personified,

and its nice to see that taste survives.

So, we'd like to have the final word:

Jack really shows what friends are for,

so here's to you Jack Goodsitt,

and here's to another Eighty More !
